Flatbed Truck Crashes Into House in Florence, Kentucky

In the early hours of Friday morning, a flatbed truck found itself in an unexpected and dangerous position as it crashed into a home in Northern Kentucky. The quiet residential area of Clark Street in Florence was suddenly shaken by the loud crash. This street, usually known for its peace and quiet, turned into a scene of chaos when the truck veered off its path. The truck not only collided with the house but also hit a nearby utility pole. The force of the impact left the pole partially knocked over, creating additional challenges for the residents in the area. Those living nearby reported to WLWT that they were left without power after the incident, further adding to the disruption. Duke Energy workers were quickly on the scene, assessing and working to repair the damage near the broken utility pole to restore electricity to the affected homes.

Early reports suggest that the truck may have collided with some low-hanging power lines as it made its way down the street. While the exterior of the house showed only minor visible damage, the truck’s presence on the homeowner’s lawn was an alarming sight. WLWT captured images of the vehicle resting in the middle of the yard, an unusual and unsettling scene for this suburban neighborhood. A resident of the house, a woman who was asleep on the second floor when the crash occurred, had a close brush with disaster. Miraculously, she escaped without any injuries, despite the startling nature of the incident. While the damage to the house appeared minor, a nearby car, which the homeowner confirmed belonged to her, did not fare as well. The back of the vehicle sustained significant damage during the crash, a clear sign of the truck’s impact.

Interestingly, the man driving the truck is reported to live in the same neighborhood. According to the woman’s father, the driver of the truck is someone who resides nearby, making this incident a close-knit community affair. This adds another layer of complexity to the situation as neighbors process what happened in their otherwise calm and safe environment. The driver’s wife later explained to WLWT that her husband thought he had parked the vehicle securely on the street before stepping inside his home for a brief moment. Unfortunately, the truck was not fully in park and began rolling downhill. As the truck gained momentum, it struck the power lines, the home, and the car, leaving a trail of damage behind it. Thankfully, the driver walked away without any injuries from the incident.
